With average temperatures between 42 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit it makes for a wonderland of festively decorated streets, Christmas markets, seasonal music and choir singing. Listen to the sounds of bells and trumpeters and attend one of the many concerts from classical to gospel on outdoor stages. Nov. 29 - Berlin
Arrive in Berlin and transfer to accessible 4-star hotel. In the evening we will enjoy a Berlin lights tour and a visit to the Gendarman Christmas market. This beautiful square in the heart of Berlin is the site of the concert hall and the French and German Cathedrals. In the center of the square stands a monumental statue of Germany’s renowned poet. Friedrich Schiller.
Nov. 30 - Berlin
Today we will tour this exciting capitol of Berlin and in the evening we will enjoy a traditional cabaret show at the Friedrichstadt-Palast.
Dec. 01 - Berlin/Potsdam/Berlin
Enjoy a day to one of Germany's most attractive towns, Potsdam.
Dec. 02 - Berlin/Dresden
We drive to Dresden, famed for it German Barouqe archeticture. We will visit the oldest Christmas market in Germany and the birth place of the German Christmas bread called Stollen. In the evening we will enjoy a concert at the world famous Semper Opera.
Dec. 03 - Dresden
Today we explore the traditional Dresden Christmas Market with its romantic and festive charm. The market is a treasure trove for real traditional handmade crafts. Every visitor here will find Christmas pyramids, smoking figures and candleholders from Erzgebirge Mountains, indigo-dyed printed textile products and pottery from Lusatia, gingerbread from Pulsnitz, filigree lace products from Plauen, Herrenhut Advent stars, blown glass tree decorations from Lauscha, and of course, specialties from Dresden itself, such as the traditional ‘Pflaumentoffel’, a chimney-sweep figure made of dried prunes. Visitors can also watch the carvers, glass blowers and bakers in action at the crafts market.
Dec. 04 - Dresden/Erfurt
We travel today to Erfurt, a medieval old town that is centered on the Cathedral Square which is a perfect setting for a romantic and unique Christmas Market atmosphere. Highlights of the Erfurt Christmas Market are an enormous 75-foot high Christmas tree, decorated with hundreds of candles. A 36-foot high Christmas Pyramid and a nativity scene, set amidst a magical fairytale forest, with hand carved almost life-sized figurines.
Dec. 05 - Erfurt/Weimar/Gorlitz/Erfurt
We enjoy a day tour to Weimar and Gorlitz, both featuring charming old town centers and history.
Dec. 06 - Erfurt/Nuremberg/Bad Staffelstein
We drive to another city famous for its Christmas market, Nuremberg. After time spent exploring this beautiful medieval city and its market we will check-in to our hotel which features a thermal spa.
Dec. 07 - Bad Staffelstein/Bamberg/Bad Staffelstein
We will tour Christmas markets of Bamberg today - the music of advent and the Route of Nativity Scenes are just some of the elements that fill the World Heritage City with a special kind of magic. Bamberg's Old Town is a jewel that shines especially bright in the Christmas season. This can be most strongly felt at the magical Advent and Christmas markets that sell all kinds of this and that, beautiful sundries, traditional items and handcrafted art objects, mouth-watering snacks and of course the spiced mulled wine served hot and steaming.
Dec. 08 - Bad Staffelstein/Wurzburg/Bad Staffelstein
Today we will visit the Bavarian city of Wurzburg. This Bavarian city is famous for its rich heritage of historic sights and former home to the prince bishop.
Dec. 09 - Bad Staffelstein/Munich
We travel today to the capital of Bavaria, Munich. Home to famous Christmas markets, beer halls and pretzels. In the evening we will enjoy a traditional Christmas concert.
Dec. 10 - Munich
Today we will explore the city of Munich and its Christmas markets.
Dec. 11 - Munich
Today is yours to enjoy as you wish.
Dec. 12 - Munich
We will transfer from the hotel to the Munich airport for our flights back to the US.
